Our Strengths

Strengths of NCA

Prepared By NCA president Ibrahim Matar And projects manager Engineer Anton Siniora

  1. The NCA has a constitution and articles of Association.
  2. The NCA is transparent and abides by its mandate, including democratic elections every two years for its executive committee and board members. The NCA is supported and monitored by a consultant committee, monitoring committee, specialized committees, and friends of the Association.
  3. Since its reactivation in 2004, the NCA has declared its vision and aims to be achieved, focusing on creating employment and supporting education. It has published pamphlets in English and Arabic describing its status and activities .
  4. The NCA is registered officially in Jerusalem and with the Ministry of Interior in the Palestinian Territories. This enabled the NCA to open bank accounts with Banks in the Palestinian Territories.
  5. The NCA  has operated an Employment Center for four years, funded by the Canadian Development Aid and the Kuwaiti Social and Economic Development Fund. This Center is the only one operated by an NGO in Jerusalem that has provided on-the-job training and employment.  Over 265 unemployed have benefited from this Center.
  6. The NCA has no fixed liabilities for paying rent for offices or salaries of staff who work as volunteers. The Freres College in Jerusalem has graciously provided a meeting room and a workshop for continuous training in Art and Ceramic tile production to the NCA. This has ensured sustainability for the Association.
  7. The NCA has received recognition in a letter of appreciation from Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, the President of Palestine, for the Desk calendar produced by the NCA for 2011. The NCA has received recognition from the Pontifical Institute,  Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center, and Professional Promotion Hospitality Section, for supporting its students, as published in their guide on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Institute.  The NCA has also received a letter of appreciation from the YWCA for the financial support provided to their students in the field of Secretarial training.
  8. The NCA has received coverage in the media and local newspapers, in particular, a one-page report in Al-Quds newspaper highlighting the graduation ceremony of the ceramic trainees and another page report bringing to light the 2011 desk calendar dedicated to the Palestinian destroyed villages.
  9. The NCA has been recognized and supported by international donors such as the Italian Cooperation, UNDP, Australian Aid, German Association for the Holy Land, Kuwaiti Fund for Social and Economic Development, Canadian Fund for Development, and Jerusalem Unit and has received contributions from the local community.
